Everytime someone learns a new language, it is always the foul words that are learnt first. In Malaysia where there is a diverse range of subjects being spoken, it is only natural for us to be able to learn other languages that are spoken in the country
However, when we learn something new in a particular language e.g. Tamil, the only word that actually sticks would be the foul words e.g. su** and pa***. You'd sometimes even listen to non-Chinese who don't speak a word of Chinese swearing in Chinese. That's how quickly someone picks up a profanity
As I was reading through a friend's blog a moment ago, I saw the two very important but usually not remembered words: Thank you. It actually made me think of this one question: What's the most important words in every language?
After a while, I concluded that the words are as follows:
1. Yes
2. No
3. I don't know/understand
4. Thank you
5. Sorry
6. Okay
7. Any combination of the above words
Despite the fact that it's not commonly remembered, just try fitting these words into your daily life. You might notice that you can provide an answer to anyone who speaks to you with the above answers. Try :D
